Advanced Research Methods
When writing and formatting research papers in the social sciences (psychology, sociology, economics, etc.) business, or nursing, students may use the American Psychological Association Style, otherwise known as APA.
APA requires 4 sections:
1) Title Page
--Running head, title, your name, your school
--very short summary (150-250 words)
3) Main Body
--for lab report may contain an introduction, a method section, a results section, and a discussion section.
--lists of works that you cited in your paper
--center word "References" at the top of the page
1. Use correct formatting
--A document describing how to set up formatting MLA, APA, and Chicago from Germanna College in Virginia!
2. Creating parenthetical, in-text citations (Purdue OWL)
3. Citing sources in a References page
--Easy Bib: Use APA Style
--Bibme: Use APA Style
--How to make a hanging indent

How Students Plagiarize:
•Copying and pasting from the Internet
•Copying directly out of print resources (books, newspapers, etc.)
•Buying or borrowing papers
•Not citing sources
•IT’S EASY FOR STUDENTS TO DO, BUT EVEN EASIER FOR TEACHERS TO FIND.
